I'm sorry that you have had problems. The 7220BFP is an older design of model, and so the manual might not be as clear as it could be. You should have received: a) The 7220BFP b) The Acquire software package, including a CD and manual c) An RS232 null modem cable d) A twinax to 2 x BNC adaptor cable. To get started, first install the software on the PC. Then connect the RS232 cable from the connector marked RS232 on the lock-in to the RS232 port on the PC. If you haven't got an RS232 port then you will need to buy a CE0116S USB-serial adaptor from us as well. In the latter case, you need also to install the USB driver software. Turn on the lock-in - the LED should light. Start the software, and you should see a dialog as the software searches for compatible instruments. It should find the 7220BFP, after which you will be able to operate it from the computer using the remote front panel mode. Then you will be able to carry out the basic inital checks, whereby you connect the OSC OUT signal back to the A input connector on the adaptor. You will also need to register your copy of Acquire, so go to Tools - Options and follow the instructions to request an Activation code. I know that this system was fully checked out by our technician before it shipped, so am confident that it is working OK.
