The RS232 connector is a standard communications port. It can report any instrument output. So, for example to get the Magnitude reading, just send the ASCII command "MAG" to the RS232 port and the instrument will respond with an ASCII string number that represents the present magnitude reading. To get the X and/or Y readings, use the commands "X" and/or "Y". The MAG output is always available via the interfaces and on the front panel. However, this value is calculated every millisecond (1000Hz). The instrument can also generate a MAG value at 7.5MHz, but this is only available as an analog output at the CH2 connector when this FAST mode is selected. In NORMAL Mode any of the available outputs can be converted to analog signals and output at CH1 and CH2. In FAST mode only two choices are available: CH1 = X; CH2 = Y or CH1 = X, CH2 = MAG.
