USB 3830 Multiplexer

We've encountered a problem booting our system only when the 3830 USB Multiplexer is connected to a USB port. The system fails to complete its boot sequence. We have a Dell Precision 650 running Windows XP (which does not get loaded..). Is there a firmware upgrade to resolve this problem? Thanks, -Ajay.
