As advised, I suspect you need a null modem cable. The 7265 RS232 port is configured as in the same way as a PC so you need a null modem to connect it. A lot of other RS232 instruments are set as a terminal, and so work with a straight-through cable. Our part number for a suitable cable is the CO1003.
