I am hoping to use the 5210 in an electroabsorption setup. It involves modulation of the light passingthrough a sample by the influence of a electric field (AC) applied to the sample. The transmitted light intensity is then measured using a PMT(Photomultiplier tube) which will measures both the AC and DC signal. I had hoped to split the signal between, the Channel 1 at the back of the 5210, and the BNC "A" connection at the front of the lockin(Is this correct). The reference signal (TTL) will be supplied by a function generator which will be at the same frequency as the AC field supplied to the sample. I am hoping to measure any changes in the AC signal between the reference and the applied AC field supplied to the sample. We have a program coded in LabVIEW that uses the MAG function to find the difference between the two . Is this the correct function? The DC signal is around 1 V and is measured using the read function on the ADC1. I know that the 5210 has been used for this experiment before by other labs Any help would be great
